An exquisite Antique mid Victorian ring (Circa 1870) set with a stunning high-relief Cameo hand carved from Coral. It depicts a detailed side profile of a beautiful lady with leaves and grapes in her hair.
Similar to Pearls, Coral is made naturally in the depths of the ocean and boasts a beautiful salmon pink/ orange hue with lovely natural patterning.
Roman style Cameos saw a revival during the Victorian era due to Queen Victoria’s fascination with the pieces and the nation’s growing interest in destinations such as Rome.
The Cameo is set in its original 18ct Yellow Gold frame but has been converted into a ring over time with the addition of a newer 18ct shank to create this spectacular statement piece.
